RULES AND GUIDELINES
- The
Marengo Youth Wrestling Club will furnish t-shirts, singlets (uniforms), and
warm ups. Each wrestler will
obtain their own wrestling shoes and headgear, and mouth guards.
Mouth guards are not required, but are highly recommended.
Wrestling shoes can not be worn any other time than on the mat.
DO NOT WEAR YOUR WRESTLING
SHOES TO PRACTICE, CHANGE INTO TO THEM
AT PRACTICE. Headgear will
be worn at all practices and tournaments, NO
EXCEPTIONS.
This is an IKWF rule. If
a wrestler does not bring headgear to practice he/she will not be allowed to
practice that night. This also
applies to tournaments. Wrestlers
should wear their t-shirts to all practices and tournaments.
- Wrestlers
are to enter and exit from the back door of the church, DO NOT USE THE MAIN
ENTRANCE! We are NOT allowed in
the hallways.
- It
is important that wrestlers attend as many practices as possible, we
understand there maybe conflicts, but please make as many as you can.
- Any
wrestler that disrupts practice or refuses to participate will be sat down
for the rest of practice and may not be eligible for that week’s
tournament.
- Any
wrestler showing poor sportsmanship will be sat down for a cooling off
period and will be dealt with according to the severity of the problem.
- Any
wrestler who purposely assaults another member of the team could be
discharged from the team. No
reimbursement will be given.
- Any
wrestler caught swearing or being disrespectful could lead to dismissal from
the team. No reimbursement will
be given.
- When
wrestlers address their coach, they should refer to them as Coach DiPuma,
Coach Dauphin, Coach Klick, etc.
- Suspending
a wrestler because of poor grades will be at the parent’s discretion.
- Wrestling
is an exciting and fun sport only when these guidelines are adhered to.
- At
Sunday tournaments PARENT AND OR
SIBLINGS ARE NOT ALLOWED DOWN BY THE MATS.
Only IKWF card carrying coaches are allowed.
This is an IKWF rule.
- We
welcome all parents to attend practices.
